The DIP!

Finally, with the dip complete, we will apply our clear coat. This is one of the most important parts of the dip. This will protect the dip from UV, scratches and general wear and tear etc. Ideally you want to use a 2K clear coat, if you cant get your hands on any there any clear coat will do, just apply a lot of coats. In my case, I managed to get my hands on some 2K 2 part clear coat which requires mixing and reducing. I also used a little C02 powered spray bottle with a glass jar where I could put my mixed paint in.

Apply 2 coats of clear roughly 10 – 15 minutes apart. Again, be careful for running but also don’t be too generous! You want a nice thick coating! Leave to dry for 24 hours and don’t be impatient. LET IT DRY PROPERLY!

    • Thanks mate! I found definitely the 2K clear coats are the best by far! Best finish and best protection just a pain in the ass as you need to reduce and they are a 2 part mix. I suggest using a proper 2k clear coat and a spray gun rather then anything in a can! Grab something from your local automotive shop 🙂 Good luck!
